Just a quick reminder that this Friday [ May 8th, 11am PDT ] to this Saturday [ May 9th, 11am PDT ] is the third annual Second Life Languages Conference, SLanguages 2009. We’ve got a full schedule of talks, workshops, field trips, seminars and discussions lined up, and it promises to be the busiest yet. If you’re planning to come along, here’s some useful information:

1) Starting Point
Teleport here to pick up the Speaker or Participant Pack and join the SLanguages group. Please note that all last-minute information, changes and cancellations will be communicated via group message only, so it’s vital that you join the group before the conference.

2) Get Some Training
Language Lab have kindly volunteered to run some orientation sessions for new SL users before the conference. For more details, see the timetable in the Participant Pack or on the website. Speaking of which…

3) Website
Visit the SLanguages website for timetable, abstracts and more details.

4) Archive
Due to the number of sessions this year, and the number of people involved in organising the conference, it’s not going to be possible for us to archive all the audio from all venues. We’ll do our best over the 24 hours, but if there’s something you’re really interested in seeing then we’d recommend getting to the session itself.

5) Tagging
If you’re tweeting Slanguages 2009 please use this hashtag: #slang2009 .  If you’re tagging blog posts or Flickr or whatever please tag with slang2009. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

That’s it! We hope to see you there at the end of the week…
